The Offbeat Collection is the place to find information about Ska and related (Mento, Rocksteady, etc..) record releases between 1959 and 1989. No offense to any of the number of great Ska bands post 1990 but I already have my hands full enough trying to archive the vast collection of material that was released before this, plus the fact that the Offbeat Collection is all about vinyl which by this time period was dying off.

       I have always been intrigued by the wealth of information I have found about bands and the history of Ska music by reading the back of old album covers and liner notes. I created this site to share that information as well as to provide a reference to what these recordings would sell for by including past online auction sales for all of those interested in either buying or selling (or just plain curious).

       The framework of this site allows for users to easily search by selecting a specific artist, record label or year in Ska to see all of the related recordings in that particular category.

       This is a work in progress so bear with me as I continue to add to this extensive collection. I am doing my best to provide high res scans of the albums that are posted but in many cases I only have access to lower res versions and have posted those in place of nothing at all. Please let me know if you find any inaccuracies with my postings and I will update my information.
